Guadalajara is the capital city of the Mexican state of Jalisco, and the seat of the municipality of Guadalajara. The city is located in the central region of the state and in the western-Pacific area of Mexico. With a population of 1,600,940 it is Mexico's second most populous municipality. The Guadalajara Metropolitan Area includes other adjacent municipalities and has a population of 4,112,332 inhabitants, making it the second most populous metropolitan area in Mexico, behind Mexico City, and the 23rd largest metropolitan area of the Americas. The municipality is the most densely populated in Mexico after the Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl in the State of Mexico..

An impressive, towering cathedral, begun in 1573 and finished in 1788, it blends baroque, neoclassic, and Mexican churrigueresque architecture. As you look around the cathedral and the Sagrario next to it, note how the building has sunk into the soft lake bottom beneath. The base of the facade is far from
level and straight, and when one considers the weight of the immense towers, it’s no surprise. Permanent scaffolding is in place to stabilize the building. In Mexico, the sacred ground of one religion often becomes the sacred ground of its successor.
 

Outside, at the eastern end of the plaza, rises the timeless silhouette of the Teatro Degollado. The theater’s classic, columned facade climaxes in an epic marble frieze, depicting the allegory of Apollo and the nine muses. The

Degollado’s resplendent grand salon is said to rival the gilded refinement of Milan’s renowned La Scala. Overhead, its ceiling glows with Gerardo Suárez’s panorama of canto IV of Dante’s Divine Comedy, complete with its immortal cast—Julius Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Saladin—and the robed and wreathed author himself in the middle.

Localizado en el kilómetro 15 de la Carretera a Saltillo. Es un sitio donde se puede admirar la caída de agua "Cola de Caballo" con aproximadamente 150 metros de caída formada con la corriente del arroyo Blanco y que al caer se une al Río Santiago.
